THE INSTITUTE · PUBLISHING IMPRINT

Mendel Press

The Institute's publishing imprint. Some arguments can't survive being cut to a post or a segment; they need a book's worth of room. Mendel Press exists for those. The imprint publishes and supports long-form work on influence, technology, and the conditions of public belief — held to the standard of a serious trade book rather than a report nobody finishes.

For authors

If you are writing, or planning to write, a serious book on how artificial intelligence is reshaping persuasion, trust, belief, attention, or human behaviour, the Institute would like to hear from you.

Mendel Press is small and deliberate. Rather than publish at volume, it looks for a few projects worth getting behind — and then helps their authors move forward, in whatever way the project actually needs. Depending on the work, that support might mean editorial guidance, help identifying and applying for grant funding, or introductions to agents, editors, and publishers. Some projects are best self-published with the Institute's backing; others belong with an established house, and the Press can help make that case.

What the Press looks for is not a finished product. It is a serious idea, held by someone serious about writing it — whether that's a full manuscript, a partial draft, or a well-formed plan for a book that doesn't exist yet.

Submit a pitch

If that describes what you're working on, send it. Tell us what the book is, where it stands, and why you're the person to write it. There's no fee, and no particular stage is required — an idea is enough to start a conversation.

What stage is it at?
What kind of support are you looking for?

Submitting a pitch does not create any agreement, guarantee, or obligation. The Institute cannot promise funding, publication, representation, or a response to every submission, and nothing here should be read as such a promise. The Institute works across overlapping themes and may already be exploring ideas similar to yours; sending a pitch does not make it confidential or restrict what the Institute may pursue. Please do not send confidential material or your only copy of anything.
